"Coach, how do I get recruited at a tournament?"

"Coach, how do I get recruited at a tournament?"

I can't tell you how many times we get this question! You CANNOT, I REPEAT, CANNOT just SHOW UP to a tournament and expect to get a lot out of the experience in regards to your recruiting. There is a lot of prep work that goes into maximizing your tournament experiences, but here are 3 easy things you can do NOW:

1. Make sure you have a solid target list of schools and their communication information. It's good to have a wide range of programs that reflect your abilities.

2. Draft, proofread, edit, and send your introduction to all the schools on your target list NOW! And include your highlight video! You want to get them INTERESTED before you

ask them to come watch you play.

3. Draft, edit, proofread, and send a pre-tournament email as soon as you get your tournament schedule! Be sure to include your entire team schedule for the weekend, your jersey colors and number, field locations, etc. so that they can come watch you play!

A lot of players don't know and understand that college coaches put a TON of TIME and EFFORT intro creating their watch lists for each tournament. They don't just walk around randomly looking at players. They have a well organized game plan for the weekend so they can evaluate as many players as possible.

Make sure you are ON THAT WATCH LIST!
